Carol Leader is a Jungian Training Analyst and Training Supervisor, and a Senior Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist - both with the British Psychotherapy Foundation (BPF). She has practiced as a psychotherapist and psychoanalytic business coach for twenty years, working in that time with a wide variety of people in public and private life who in some way have reached a turning point or a moment of crisis in their private or professional lives where it is clear that some kind of change is needed.
Carol initially offers consultations for individuals and couples so that there can be a chance to fully discuss their needs. She can offer short-term psychotherapy as well as longer-term analytic work. In addition she offers bespoke short term coaching for business executives and creative practitioners in the arts.
Carol is also a member of the British Association for Psychoanalytic and Psychodynamic Supervision (BAPPS) and a professional member with the Association for Group and Individual Psychotherapy (AGIP). She supervises supervisors and a range of therapists and counsellors. She teaches and lectures for a number of professional organisations as well as in business and to the general public.
Carol previously worked as a successful professional actor, writer and presenter, before re-training in midlife in Freudian and Jungian depth-psychology.
'Mental health is a condition that must be achieved prior to the successful pursuit of either the good life or happiness, just as physical health and a certain minimum of material prosperity and political freedom are necessary. Otherwise the energies of the individual are bound up in the problem of simple survival.'
